American Psycho (2000): Individuality through Conformity [Thematic Analysis]

Based on a 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, American Psycho is perhaps one of this century’s greatest dark comedies. Directed by Mary Harron and starring Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, a 27-year-old Wall Street businessman, there is so much more to this film than meets the eye.
