Pros:
Yahoo has one of the best work environments I have worked in. The people are friendly and very cooperative. The internal mailing lists are very helpful to help you solve problems. Colleagues actually take the time to reply to your questions. Benefits package is very good and there are lots of nice things at the office - gym, cafeteria.
Cons:
Having said that, Yahoo was at one time a great place to work with. Now, it's become a slow moving giant. Managers don't know what they are doing and often lead engineers in different directions. Lots of time gets wasted catering something to impress the higher-ups rather than our customers.
TIP: Before you accept a job, try to get the inside scoop on the group you are joining.

Pros:
What I like best about Yahoo is getting an opportunity to work iwth talented people. I came from an IT division of a retailer and immediately I was impressed by the work culture. People are really trying to solve problems and not just pass the buck.
There are lots of opportunities for career growth. There are many business units in the company that you can move to and explore.
Salary and benefits are excellent. Company is quite flexible about work hours and vacation. I also like the cafeteria.
I have been able to maintain a good work-life balance. There are days when you have to stay late or work weekends. But these tend to be the exception rather than the norm.
Cons:
Recently, there have been lots of rumors in the company regarding the takeover. This has affected morale, but this is a fleeting moment. Senior management really needs to get their act together.
